Deportes

I'm not a huge fan of sports based video games unless they have cartoon-like animation and a lot of power ups and the like. It's not that I don't enjoy them at all it's just I like to play games where the subject matter is largely completely impossible. That being said my favorite sports based game is "1080 Snowboarding".
Thinking about it.... That's kind of a race style game, though snowboarding is a sport. Anyway, "1080 Snowboarding" was released 1998. It was developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo.
While we're thinking of racing games, Need For Speed is my favorite franchise but by favorite racing game is "Extreme G 2". This title was developed by Probe entertainment and published by Acclaim Entertainment. It was released in 1998.

P.S On a completely unrelated note. Bud Light, the beer, is using commercials with the slogan "here we go" when someone spots some Bud Light. That's already someone's catch phrase. Mario's.

New Blood for 5 Bucks

Today I was shopping in the great and wonderful Berlin Mall in sunny Berlin, Vermont and I found something worth mentioning. I was in Wally World (Wal-Mart) with a friend just looking at stuff and went to the Game-Stop after to look at the Game Boy Advance games. They have a really interesting selection of used Game Boy Advance games which is nice for me. I only had 5 dollars so I was looking for the cheapest of their selection and with video games the cheaper it is usually means the lower quality the game is (not always true by a long shot). What I found was a game called "Guilty Gear X: Advance Edition". I got it on a whim, I had no idea that it was part of a series or what kind of game it was.
Usually I'm not a fan of Game-Stop for used or hard to find games. If you're looking for fairly main stream games or new releases then its a good store but then again any entertainment industry chain store or big department store is good for finding the big games. There is a value, however, for eclectic games in Game-Stops used game section.
Good times indeed. My Game Boy Advance collection really needed some new blood.

The Information:

Guilty Gear is a 2-D fighter.

The first game in the Guilty Gear series was called "Guilty Gear" and released for Play Station in 1998.

The game is developed by Arch System Works Co., ltd.

"Guilty Gear X: Advance Edition" is published by Sammy Corporation. The rest of the series is published by a slew of other publishers.

Yard Sale Skater

It is mid April, the temperatures get and stay in the 60's usually during the days here in the grand ol' Verd Mont. On the weekends, if you're on the right road, you can notice a few yard sales going down. To me that's uplifting. I've been waiting for this since last year so I can get my hands on some weird old video games.
The season isn't in full swing yet, yard sales are still few and far between. I've only been to one. One of the 3 I've seen and there were no video games what so ever. As the Summer nears, however, the sales will become more and more frequent by week giving me more and more chances to find what I'm looking for. Namco Plug and Plays, cartridge games, and Play Station/ Play Station 2 games. This season if I can get lucky I hope to find an SNES and if i can be even luckier an NES. I want one of those bad. I feel like a poser collector not having either.
I will keep you updated.

Conflicting Favorites

My all time favorite game developer, designer, and producer, is by far Nintendo (if you couldn't tell by all the games referenced on the sight). Nintendo also is my favorite designer and producer of game consoles. That is not to say I don't love or appreciate other developers and companies. My favorite game franchise is Call of Duty; the first game of witch was titled "Call of Duty" released in 2004( the franchise is and has been developed by: Infinity Ward, Treyarch, Activision*, Sledgehammer Games, Amaze Entertainment, Rebellion Developments, and n-Space) my favorite game is "Shadow of the Colossus" (2005 developed by Team Ico and published by Sony Computer Entertainment).
That being said I am still extremely biased in a pro-Nintendo way.

At the Risk of Being Boring.

This blog isn't supposed to be reviews of video games, (though I do voice my opinions) just some facts because I enjoy learning about them. Plus walkthroughs are good links, right? Of course they are. On that note here is the Metroid (link to good info from ign on the Metroid series) franchise list (plus a time table of the game releases I found on wikipedia.org). The Metroid series is produced by Nintendo and developed by Nintendo along with some other developers on occasion.
The links on the game titles are, of course, walkthroughs and or information.

"Metroid II: Return of Samus" (1991)
